If I were to describe Bonifacio High Street in a few words,
it would be an open-area park mall. Think of an urban park
with catwalks, plants, and lawns, place in speciatly shops,
arcades, and restaurants, and there you have it - Bonifacio
High Street.
There is a Krispy Kreme branch there. This was actually
the main reeson we went to Bonifacio High Street. I was
surprised that despite the quite expensive donut prices,
there was still a very long line which even extended to
the outside of the shop. Personally, I like Gonuts Donuts
the most, although I would readily munch on any donuts from
Dunkin' Donuts, Mister Donut, or Hot Loops.
There are lots of shops to see at Bonifacio High Street,
but the ones I readily recall (aside from Krispy Kreme)
are Timezone gaming arcade, and Starbucks. You will find
various clothing, food, and specialty stores, but unfortunately,
there were too many to see, and I only had little time to
look around.
Tired of your usual shopping and hang-out destinations?
Give Bonifacio High Street a visit for a refreshing experience.
My family and I recently went to SM Mall of Asia. The carpark
building was okay - it had 2 elevators going to the mall
area. The mall had a great indoor and outdoor layout, where
there is a nice outdoor area for shoppers at the center
of the whole location.
There is a walkway leading to a nice view of the bay area.
You can use a provided a metered binoculars on a stand,
where bay viewing could be more exciting. I believe there
should have been more than one provided, though.
For the kids, there's a Merry-Go-Round, air-padded activity
center, and a mini Ferris wheel. Additionally, I also found
2 Timezone game arcades, an ice skating rink, and movie
theaters. I'm sure there's much more stuff to discover here.
A food court is located a level above the skating rink
area. This is a life-saver when you can't decide where to
eat, or if someone decides to try the skating rink.
The mall is quite huge, so it would take numerous visits
to memorize where your fave retail stores are. Lots and
lots of stores to see, although I haven't discovered where
the electronic gadget shops are located yet.
Overall, SM Mall of Asia is a very nice place to go to with
the family.
This is the first time we encountered a store in the mall that does not allow a child stroller inside. According to the security guard of the Surplus Shop in SM Mall of Asia, the stroller must be left at the baggage counter. Well, that would be okay, if our son wasn't in it!
The stroller we were using at that time was an umbrella type (sometimes called the skeleton type), so it did not have any storage areas below, not even pockets. (In case shoplift prevention was the store's concern.) My wife's reaction was to just forget about browsing at the store, and leave. I mean, do they expect that my wife will put our son out of the stroller, and *carry him*, while she browses the stuff at the shop? I don't think they know the main reason why parents put babies and toddlers in strollers. Especially when shopping.
Anyway, I guess we will never shop (or even browse) at any Surplus Shop store ever again, with or without our child. We prefer places that are child and parent friendly, and welcome children on strollers.
Recently, my family and I have been getting our groceries at a place called SM Hypermarket. It basically is a one-level
mini-mall supermarket with a cozy foodcourt, and some shops for office supplies, household hardware, eyewear, bakery products, and healthcare. There's also a gaming arcade, and a local bank branch.
These are the things I love about the place:
1. One-stop Shop
The supermarket area has the usual grocery items, plus a whole lot more. Clothes, consumer appliances, and toys are also available within the area. If you need something, chances are, it's available there.
2. Toddler Friendly
They have those special shopping carts that have a toycar in front where your toddler can actually ride in. Perfect for keeping junior busy while you fulfill your grocery list. The fact that the shopping area is in one level, no need to struggle with the kid stroller and escalators.
3. Convenient Car Park Area
So far, finding a space to park in the basement parking area was always easy for me. They have a large elevator that easily accomodates a few shopping carts (& kid stroller). And you can bring the shopping cart to your parked car,
sparing you the burden of carrying the individual bags by hand.
4. Multi-tender Checkout Counters
You no longer have to find out what checkout counter accepts credit cards - every one does.
The SM Hypermarket is really a great place to get your groceries & other stuff.
